Warranty
Warranty
AK Floors (“the Company”) provides a Warranty for its flooring products when utilized in suitable indoor residential applications. This warranty is granted to you, the initial end-use purchaser, and commences upon the purchase of the resilient product, lasting for the limited warranty period specified on the product description. The foundation for any warranty-related claim is the original invoice from the “Company” or an authorized “Company” dealer. To ensure the warranty, the flooring must be installed following the Company’s installation guidelines and specifications and maintained according to the Company’s maintenance recommendations for the entire duration of the original installation. Damages resulting from non-compliance with installation and cleaning/maintenance guidelines will not be covered under this warranty. Consult your dealer for installation guidelines, specifications, and product care recommendations. For more details, please refer to the bottom of this page.
What the Warranty Covers
Manufacturing Defects – AK Floors guarantees that the flooring product will be devoid of manufacturing defects throughout the warranty period. Manufacturing defects encompass, but are not limited to, delamination, core voids, thickness discrepancies, and dimensional stability issues. Dimensional stability defects refer to changes in the product’s width and/or length that surpass the tolerances outlined in ASTM F2199. Dimensional variations include thickness, length, width, and squareness measurements that exceed ASTM tolerances.
Wear – AK Floors guarantees that the resilient floor product will not wear through to the pattern/decor layer under standard use during the warranty period. Standard use refers to light to moderate foot traffic.
Waterproof Warranty
This warranty covers topical moisture as long as the water does not overflow the surface edges (room perimeter, cut boards, etc.). AK Floors guarantees that for the stated warranty period from the date of original purchase, your AK Floors product will not swell, cup, or crack due to:
– Normal cleaning practices (refer to the care and maintenance document for more information)
– Moisture from everyday household spills (refer to the care and maintenance document for more information)
– Typical moisture levels from subfloors when exposed to such conditions (refer to the installation instructions document for more information)
While moisture will not compromise the product’s integrity, excessive moisture accumulation in buildings, subfloors, or building materials can potentially lead to mold and/or mildew growth, especially if the issue remains undetected or unresolved. Additionally, such high moisture levels can cause the product’s ends and/or sides to lift/flare due to vapor pressure from underneath. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from excessive moisture levels (as detailed in the installation instructions document). All subfloor moisture sources should be addressed prior to installation.
Petproof Warranty
AK Floors guarantees that your luxury vinyl floor will resist staining caused by pet (domestic cat or dog) stains, including urine, feces, and vomit. Stain resistance refers to your floor’s ability to minimize or withstand permanent stains for the duration of your ownership. Prompt cleaning of the affected area should commence upon discovery. The longer it takes to remove the stain, the more challenging it becomes to eliminate.
The Limited Petproof Warranty DOES NOT COVER: Urine, feces, or vomit stains from sources other than pets.
